Destination 

Turkey is a nation straddling Eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Cosmopolitan Istanbul, on the Bosphorus Strait, is home to the iconic Hagia Sophia, with its soaring dome and Christian mosaics, the massive 17th-century Blue Mosque and the circa-1460 Topkapı Palace, former home of sultans. Ankara is Turkey’s modern capital.

DAY 01 (SAT): ISTANBUL & THE BOSPHOROUS

Welcome to Istanbul. You will be transferred to your hotel and at 13:00 we will tour the exotic city that spans both Europe and Asia visiting the Blue Mosque, St. Sohpia Museum and the Hippodrome. Cruise between two continents on the stretch of water tghan separates Europe from Asia in the afternoon with an optional “Half day Boshorous cruise”.

Overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 02 (SUN): ANKARA, CAPPADOCIA

After breakfast, we drive towards the nation’s capital, Ankara to visit Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of the famed Mustafa Kamal Ataturk before continuing on to the surreal landscape of Cappadocia.

DAY 03 (MON): CAPPADOCIA, GOREME UNDERGROUND CITY

Marvel  at the lunar landscape of Cappadocia today as we visit the Goreme Valley Open Air Museum and the fairy chimneys, and explore the many levels of an underground city. Photo opportunity are everywhere, so ready your camera. Evening, witness a Turkish Folklore (Optional) dance along with belly dance.

DAY 04 (TUE): SULTANHANI CARAVANSARY, KONYA

Leaving Caoadicua we head south, towards Konya, along the ancient Silk Road, visiting Sultanhani Caravansary, just as the ancient traders did. Once in Konya, we tour the Mevlana Museum, the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaeddin Rumi and Alaeddin Mosque.

DAY 05 (WED): SAGALASSOS, PAMUKKALAE

Today we head for Pamukkale, and its calcium travertine. Along the way we visit ancient site of Sagalassos. Conquered by Alexander the Great in 333 BC, earthquakes and plague saw its demise in 541-2. Today it is one of the best preserved sites in Turkey and is one the UNESCO Tentative list.

DAY 06 (THU): PAMUKKALE

Visit the ruins of Hierapolis, the Temple of Apollo, Necropolis, and stroll over the magnificent white calcium terraces of Pamukkale. This afternoon we will enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods.

DAY 07 (FRI): EPHESUS, SIRINCE, and ISTANBUL

Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of Temple of Artemis. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre before continuing to the former Greek village of Sirince, the famous for its fruit wines. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and at the carpet village; we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value.

After this visits, take flight from Izmir to Istanbul.

DAY 08 (SAT): ISTANBUL – DEPARTURE

Breakfast at your hotel. Today is free until your departure transfer to Istanbul Airport to catch your flight back home with wonderful memories of Turkey!

  • This tour starts at 13:00 hours with a half day tour of Istanbul. If you are arriving the same day, just assure that you will have enough time to clear immigration procedure, traveling into your hotel and check in.
